How Groupride works
The short version of everything you can do here.
Signing in
There are no passwords. Enter your email, open the link we send you, and you're in. The link works for 15 minutes. The same link creates your account if you're new.
Your profile
On first sign-in you pick a username and, if you like, a display name, city and bike colour. The colour shows as a small dot next to your name in participant lists, which helps people find you at the start.
Finding rides
Pick your area at the top of the front page. Upcoming rides are grouped into the next 7 days, the next 30 days and later, and rides from the past week stay visible for a while. The Browse page searches by ride name or start point.
Joining a ride
On a ride page, mark yourself as interested if you're considering it or going if you're in. You can do the same straight from the ride cards on the front page. Once the ride has started, the button turns into went, so you can confirm you were there.
Posting a ride
Click Create a group ride on the front page and fill in a name, the area, the start point and the start time. Duration, club, price, a description and a GPX route are optional but make the ride a lot more useful to others. A short description with distance, pace and difficulty answers most questions before anyone has to ask.
Car sharing
This is the part Groupride was built for. On any ride page you can say that you're driving and have free seats, or that you need a ride. Add where you're leaving from and how people can reach you. Others tap I'm interested on your offer or request, and once all seats are taken the offer closes by itself. Your contact note is only shown to people who respond.
Routes and the Navigator
Groupride Navigator follows a GPX route on your phone with one big arrow that bends with the trail. It works without an account: load a GPX file and start. When you're signed in you can save routes to your profile, pick them from the menu later, and attach a route to a ride you post. Riders then open the route from the ride page with one tap.
Clubs
Tag a ride with a club name and it shows as a badge on the ride. Start typing when posting a ride and you'll get suggestions from clubs already in use.
Editing and deleting rides
You can edit your own rides from the ride page. After the ride you can also record how many riders showed up. Deleting a ride is on the edit page and asks you to type delete first.
Your public profile
Every rider has a page at /rider/username showing username, bike colour, city, join date and a trail score, a number that grows with rides joined and rides attended. Tap your @username in the top bar to see yours.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from the profile settings. It happens immediately. Rides you posted stay visible without your name; your participations, car ride offers and saved routes are removed.
Is it free?
Yes. Groupride is free for riders, friend groups, clubs and non-profits. A small fee for commercial users may come later.
🤙 See you on the trail.
